Wallpapr hangs shell exit attempts on logout/shutdown/reboot

description

I've had to train myself to manually exit wallpapr before attempting to log out, shutdown or restart because if I don't it will fail. Manually quitting wallpapr always allows for immediate shutdown/reboot/logout. Wondering if anyone else has been able to reproduce this issue or have any ideas why wallpapr is hanging the shell exit. Environment is Windows XP, all latest patches.

Does it do it every time? I've had it do it occasionally (I think when it's refreshing an image) but it's very rare.

Happens every time, yes.
